A feature that deserves special mention is the MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System), which minimises the rotational forces acting on the rider's head in a crash.
Another important feature of the alpinestars *Supertech S-M8* motocross helmet is the collarbone protection. The base of the S-M8 is sculpted so as to ensure the collarbone is protected and includes an energy absorbing pad.
